This is going to be a very short post or else my venom might spew all over the place. USA comes into the World Cup ranked #5 in FIFA’s world rankings and lay an egg in our first game. Yeah yeah, I know the Czech’s are good, but when they score five minutes into the game on us and never look back it just becomes frustrating. Italy and Ghana are left to go in the pool play so it doesn’t get any easier. If we don’t make the round of 16 then it’s another classic American display in the World Cup.
As referenced earlier this week, Rafael Nadal loves him some clay surface. Nadal has now won 60 games in a row on clay after defeating Roger Federer in the finals of the French Open yesterday. This is two in a row now as a French Open champion and he is quickly becoming as big of a star as Federer. Oddly enough, Federer actually extended his lead as the number one player of the WTA due to the fact he performed better at Roladn Garros this year then last. I swear the rankings in golf and tennis are so screwy it’s not even funny!
The World Cup is now in full gear and man have the games been good. The competition has been fierce and it truly appears the teams are more evenly matched than I can ever remember from previous World Cup matches. I think by far the biggest representation of this came on Saturday when Trinidad and Tobago, a country with only a million people, tied the mighty Swedish team. Trinadad and Tobago was able to accomplish this feat with a MAN DOWN in the second half due to two yellow cards against one of their players.
Terry vs White Chocolate, Shaq vs Diop, Nowitzki vs Haslem, Wade vs Howard, Avery vs Riley and Cuban vs Miami (I could go for hours)…this series should be a GREAT ONE. StonecoldJZ is happy to say his prediction and desire have both come together to create one HELL of a NBA finals. There is a lot involved with this matchup so all the components set this up for a seven game series. In the last few years the Finals have been weak overall. Let’s clean the slate of bad memories and schedule time to watch each and every battle forthcoming.
