The most famous baseball card to collectors is the Honus Wagner tobacco card of 1909. There are about 60 in existence, but only one stands above the rest in condition. The card has previously been owned by Wayne Gretzky along with other large sports memorabilia collectors. The card sold for a record setting $2,350,000 yesterday to an anonymous buyer. That is some serious cheddar for baseball card!
Less than two weeks till Selection Sunday. Stanford was again a big mover after rising 9 spots in the RPI rankings to #41, but Louisville gained the most moving up 14 spots. Butler fell a whopping 13 spots this week down to #35 and Bradley fell 9 spots to #46

Is there any question at all? I sure hope not because it is “King Thug” himself Pacman Jones. Here is why in case you already forgot SportsUnderground.com’s Dumb Ass of the Week Award.

Federer has now been #1 in the world for over three years and 161 weeks. This breaks the longest streak ever in men’s professional tennis previoulsy held by Jimmy Connors. The most astounding part of this record is Federer is only 25 years old and shows no signs of slowing down. I don’t care if you even like tennis or not…this man is the shiznit!

It hasn’t even been two months since the Broncos lost cornerback Darrent Williams to a drive-by shooting and now comes the sad news of another loss. Reserve tailback Damien Nash collapsed and died yesterday after an appearance in a charity basketball game. The two-year veteran was playing in this event for his older brother who needs a heart transplant. Our thoughts are with the Nash family and the Broncos organization.

The Atlanta Thrashers made a huge pick up before the NHL trading deadline last night with the St. Louis Blues. Atlanta gets veteran forward Keith Tkachuk in return for sending St. Louis forward Glen Metropolit, first round pick in 2007 and two other draft picks down the road. Atlanta is currently sixth in the Eastern Conference, but four teams are within two points so this addition could be huge for the Thrashers.Â
