Kenny Smith Attempts to Jump Aston Martin

It was a couple of weeks ago that we discussed Kobe supposedly jumping a moving car which turned out to be a Youtube viral hoax. Well, last week Kenny Smith who is an analyst for TNT decided it was his turn to “supposedly” jump a moving Aston Martin. Check out the video clip below to see what happens to Kenny.

Keith Langston Prevails

Orange County Speedway

Keith “Mississippi” Langston of Mississippi Motorsports won the 20-lap Purestock scramble this past Saturday at Orange County Speedway. Langston started outside the pole and was in first place after only one lap. Issues arose on lap 3 during a caution when Langston’s clutch broke, but he was able to overcome these problems and bring it home for victory. Langston leads the points race at this juncture in the season and should be in contention for a championship run. this year Congrats Sippi and thanks for the shout out after the race!

Roger Dodger

Roger Clemens

Things have been very quiet recently around the Clemens camp, but today comes SHOCKING news. Roger Clemens supposedly had a decade long affair with country western singer Mindy McCready which dates back to when McCready was 15 years old. Yes, FIFTEEN years old. Now these are currently only allegations, but if confirmed true this blows away the steroids episode associated with the Rocket. In all reality, his career is already tarnished forever, but now his character comes into question. It’s one thing to have an affair, but it is something totally different to take that step with a 15 year old girl. Sit tight because this could get interesting.

Tyler Hansbrough Staying Put

Tyler Hansbrough

News out of Chapel Hill today states the AP Player of the Year Tyler Hansbrough will return for his senior season with the UNC Tarheels. I give two thumbs up to Tyler for returning when he is without a doubt a guaranteed lottery pick and his stock is probably as high as it will ever be as a collge player.

On another note, Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington have both made themselves available for the draft, but haven’t hired agents. Lawson is close to being ready for the next level, but Wayne Ellington is so far away it’s scary. The only thing I can say is I’m glad you went the non-agent route.

Mascot Mishap Part Deux

Benny the Bull

It was only a couple of weeks ago that we talked about Steely McBeam the mascot for the Pittsburgh Steelers and his unfortunate arrest for a DUI. Now comes the news that Benny the Bull the mascot of the Chicago Bulls is being sued for a high-five at a game on February 12th that went awry. Barry Anderson who portrays the mascot allegedly was “falling forward while grabbing a fan’s hand” and “running out of control” through the crowd. The problem lies when Benny gave Dr. Don Kalant Sr. a high-five it ruptured Kalant’s biceps. This could cause Kalnt to miss four months of work thus the lawsuit. It becomes more and more apparent that you do not want to be a mascot these days.

And the #1 Pick of the 2008 NFL Draft is…..

Jake Long

We won’t have to wait until this coming Saturday to hear the announcement because Miami has already signed Jake Long as their number one pick. Long an offensive linemen out of Michigan received a 5-year $57.5 million deal with $30 million of guaranteed cizassh. I like the move by the Dolphins for the pure fact that they weren’t going to sign McFadden or Ryan so it came down to going with the best offensive linemen in the draft or one of the top defensive linemen like Chris Long, Glenn Dorsey or Vernon Gholston. Ultimately it appears Miami felt it was top priority to go the offensive line route and Jake Long should be able to immediately step in and help protect Miami’s quarterback and open holes for Ronnie Brown.

Danica’s Delight

After a lot of hype and maybe even more skepticism Danica Patrick has become the first woman ever to win a Indy car race. Danica won the Japan 300 in her 50th career race. This should take a lot of pressure off of Danica and remember the Indianapolis 500 is just a little over a month away.
