.420 Alert

Chipper Jones

Chipper Jones is currently batting an astounding .420 through two months of the season and the whispers have already started about whether he can match Ted Williams feat of 1941. He has very close to 200 at-bats so far this year and he seems to be getting hotter by the day. That being said, does Chipper have a chance to actually hit .400 for the season? Nope, notta, won’t happen, so forget about it. Agree?

Sharapova Slips by in French Opener

Maria Sharapova

Maria fought her way to a first-round 6-1, 3-6, 8-6 victory today over Evgeniya Rodina, a Russian teen making her Grand Slam debut. We were scared for a bit because it would have meant an early exit for Maria and that just isn’t right. This is the French Open at Roland Garros and Maria just has to be in the mix.

ESPN Radio Host Gets Booted

Mark Madden

Mark Madden no longers works for ESPN radio 1250 in Pittsburgh after recent controversial remarks he made on the radio. Madden last week stated, “I’m very disappointed to hear that Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts is near death because of a brain tumor. I always hoped Senator Kennedy would live long enough to be assassinated.” My goodness Mr. Madden! Why is it not surprising to me you use to be an announcer for WCW??? (World Class Wrestling) I would like hear the context of the discussion to even try and fathom where you were going with your statement, but it couldn’t have been good. I hope you enjoy your time off kid because you certainly deserve it.
