First off did anyone know that Ben Roethlisberger used to date LPGA hottie Natalie Gulbis? I sure as hell didn’t and it actually kind of pisses me off that Big Ben used to be with the #1 SU.com Sports Babe. Well, yesterday Ben and Natalie played a friendly round of golf at the Laurel Valley Golf Club in Pennsylvania which had to be a little like heaven on Earth to walk eighteen holes with such a knockout. I think this is a good time to drop a few ribs about the new shaft on Ben’s 8-iron, what actually happened on the turn, Natalie getting wet on 14, time to grip and rip it, make sure to pull back slow, and make sure to shout “get in the hole.”

The 2009 U.S. Women’s open kicks off tomorrow in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at Saucon Valley Country Club on The Old Course. SportsUnderground would like to wish our numero uno Sports Babe Natalie Gulbis the best of luck in this LPGA Major. Last year you won the Evian Masters so this year let’s bring home the U.S Open. I know you only have two top ten finishes on the year and no victories this year, but anything can happen. Stretch it out girl!

Natalie Gulbis In The Hunt

Natlie Gulbis is tied currently for fifth at -10 after the third round wrapped up today at the Michelob Ultra Open at Kingsmill. Lindsey Wright and Cristie Kerr are tied at the top of the leaderboard with scores of -15. Gulbis has hit 35 fairways so far and 38 greens in regulation and has shot under par each round. She has her work cut out for her tomorrow, but if Natalie can shoot sub-65 Gulbis could win her second ever LPGA career title.

Paula Creamer Wins SemGroup Championship

Congratulations to Paula Creamer for winning the SemGroup Championship yesterday in a playoff against Juli Inkster. This is now Paula Creamer’s sixth LPGA victory and she is only twenty-one years old.

12 year old Alexis Thompson will participate tomorrow in the kickoff to tomorrow’s LPGA US Open at Pine Needles. Alexis is a seventh graderÂ who broke the previous record by 7 months and 20 days of being the youngest girl to play in the LPGA US Open set by Morgan Pressel. Alexis seems very level headed since her main goal coming into the tournament is to just make the cut.Â My biggest concern is there aren’t any ice cream trucks driving by while Alexis is on the course or the rythmic music along with the scent of a Nutty Buddy will surely throw off her game.

I almost forgot to update all the SportsUnderground peeps on how our favorite LPGA player finished at the SBS Open.Â Well, unfortunately Natalie finished in a tie for 14th place at even par.Â She was only nine strokes behind the winner and still pulled in a little over $15k.Â Â It’s your world Natalie andÂ we just live in it. Â
