OMG! What Have I Done?

In case you didn’t know I recently moved back to SoCal, Long Beach to be exact, and since my return all of my favorite LA teams are in the crapper except for the Los Angeles Kings.

I came back to SoCal on the 24th of February and the Lakers have lost 10 games and 6 of their last 9. They have been dominated at home for two consecutive Sundays against San Antonio and Portland. They are limping into the Playoffs and Kobe is totally off his game shooting less than 30% from the field in his last 5 games.

One week into the MLB Season it is very apparent that the Angels and Dodgers, who are perennial playoff contenders, are horrific so we could be in for a long summer.

So what do I have to look forward to? Well, the LA Kings are in their first NHL Playoff season in 8 years which helps ease the pain a little bit. Also, the Long Beach Grand Prix comes to town next week so that is another plus, but doesn’t take away the sting overall.

When exactly does football start?

Manny pulls a booner..literally

According  to Yahoo Sports.

A source close to Manny Ramirez said Thursday that the illegal substance for which the Los Angeles Dodgers slugger tested positive was not “an agent customarily used for performance enhancing.”

At least not on the baseball diamond. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the substance is supposed to boost sex drive. It is not Viagra, but a substance that treats the cause rather providing a temporary boost in sexual performance, the source said.

Ramirez, the source said, acquired the substance through a prescription from a doctor in Miami for his medical condition. The source intimated that Ramirez might bring legal action against the physician.

Manny Ramirez Bombshell

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Manny Ramirez has tested positive for steroids and will be suspended 50 games starting today. DAMN! I have to admit I did not see this one coming in the least even after I told myself I would never be surprised about another MLB athlete getting caught. The list is getting smaller and smaller for MLB stars who never touched the stuff.

Play Ball!!!

Ryan Howard will again hit more home runs than any other National League player and Johan Santana will win the NL Cy Young award.

Not exactly upsets, there. More intriguing picks run in more intriguing categories. Who will be the first manager fired? The first GM? Who will be the breakout hitters and pitchers? The free-agent flops? How many victories will the Yankees get from CC Sabathia in the first year of that landmark $161 million deal?
