The Seattle Supersonics are officially now a defunct NBA team. Owner Clay Bennett finally came to an agreement with the city of Seattle which will allow him to terminate the lease with Key Arena and move his team to Oklahoma City. Bennett will have to pay the city of Seattle $75 million, but he doesn’t care because he won the overall battle. The team will have to come up with a new name and colors because the Sonics name along with the green and yellow must stay. What will the new Oklahoma City franchise be called? The Drillers, Lariats, Thieves or something else? Thoughts or ideas?

Ray Allen Can Fly!

General Sports NBA

The Celtics absolutely broke the Lakers heart last night with a 24 point comeback in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The Celtics are now up 3-1 in the series so you can turn out the lights the party is over. I included a clip below of Ray Allen making an unbelievable reverse layup in the fourth quarter that in my opinion really took the wind out of the Lakers sails.

NBA Finals

Celtics cover -2.5 against the Lakers

Tonight is the all important first game of the seven game series in the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. If you can take down the first game in the Finals you have roughly a 78% chance of winning the World Championship. While I think Boston will pull down game one I do think the Lakers will win the Championship.

Overall Record:

NBA 27-18
MLB 8-2
College Football: 44-41-1
NFL 63-33-3
College Basketball 102-69-6

Flip Out

General Sports NBA

Flip Saunders

Flip Saunders was fired today by the Detroit Pistons. Joe Dumars who is the president of basketball operations for Detroit stated, “It’s time for a new voice to lead our team.” In Flip’s three seasons, the Pistons were 176-70 in the regular season and 30-21 in the playoffs. The problem was the Pistons fell short all three years in the playoffs by losing in the Eastern Conference Finals. Has anyone in management with the Pistons thought about the fact the Pistons are getting OLD and might be past their prime? Good luck to whoever takes the reigns next!

Last month we wrote about the Kobe jumping a car video and how cool we thought it was overall. Obviously it wasn’t a real video, but a sweet viral marketing idea nonetheless. Well, Kobe is back at it again and this time he is with the Jackass crew and is jumping over a pool of snakes. Enjoy the video clip!
